Iced Coffee Brewing Guide
Bright, refreshing, and instantly cooling — a crisp iced coffee made fresh over ice.
Iced pour‑over is the quickest way to make a clean, vibrant iced coffee. Instead of brewing hot coffee and chilling it (which dulls the flavour), this method brews directly over ice. The result is a cup that’s bright, sweet, and perfectly balanced — ideal for showcasing Golden Sheep single origins.
Step-by-step instructions
What you'll need
- V60, Kalita Wave, or similar dripper
- Paper filter
- Freshly roasted Golden Sheep Coffee beans (or purchase pre-ground)
- Burr grinder (if using beans)
- Ice
- Scales (optional)
- Clean, filtered water
Recommended Recipe
- Coffee: 15g
- Ice: 100g (in the server or glass)
- Hot water: 150g at ~94°C
- Grind: Medium (similar to table salt)
- Total brew time: ~2 –2:5 minutes
This “flash‑brew” ratio keeps the cup bright and refreshing.
Step 1 - Prepare the filter
- Place the filter in your dripper and rinse with hot water.
- Discard the rinse water.
Step 2 - Add ice
- Place 100g of ice in your server or glass.
- The ice will melt as you brew, instantly chilling the coffee.
Step 3 - Add your coffee
Add 15g of medium‑ground coffee to the dripper and level the bed.
Step 4 - Bloom
- Start your timer.
- Pour 30g of hot water to wet the grounds evenly.
- Let it bloom for 30–45 seconds.
Step 5 - Main pour
- Pour slowly and steadily until you reach 150g of total hot water.
- Aim for a total brew time of 2–2:5 minutes.
Step 6 - Swirl and Serve
- Swirl the server to fully melt and mix the ice.
- Pour over fresh ice if you prefer a colder, lighter cup.
Step 7 - Taste and adjust
- Too sharp: grind slightly finer or increase total brew time
- Too strong: add more ice or dilute with cold water
- Too weak: grind slightly finer or reduce ice
- Too bitter: grind coarser or pour more gently
Flash‑brew is wonderfully adjustable — small changes make a big difference.
Our recommendation
Iced pour‑over shines with bright, fruity single origins. They stay lively and refreshing even when chilled. For a smoother, chocolate‑forward iced coffee, the House Blend also works beautifully.
