Michael’s Second Cycling Challenge for Alzheimer’s Society

26th July 2023

In September 2024, Michael will be taking on an incredible challenge: cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats, one of the toughest long‑distance routes in the UK. It’s a journey of grit, endurance, and no small amount of courage — and it’s all for a cause that means the world to him.

This will be Michael’s second major fundraising ride for the Alzheimer’s Society. His first was the London to Paris challenge in 2017, completed in memory of his mum, who he sadly lost to dementia. That experience — and the heartbreak of watching a loved one fade behind the illness — is what drives him to keep supporting vital research and care.

Now, he’s dusting off the bike again. After more than three years out of the saddle, training feels a bit like starting from scratch, but the motivation is stronger than ever. Every mile will be ridden with purpose.

If you’d like to support Michael’s fundraising efforts, you can donate through his JustGiving page. Every penny helps the Alzheimer’s Society continue their essential work for families affected by dementia.

Thank you for cheering him on — it means more than you know.
