About Golden Sheep Coffee

Golden Sheep Coffee started in the Stroud Valleys in 2018, after Michael swapped a career in Formula 1 for coffee roasting.

After more than 30 years working with carbon fibre, coffee roasting was quite a change. The attention to the detail stayed.

Today, Michael roasts to order at The Old Calf Shed & Dairy, supplying coffee to homes, cafés, farm shops and local businesses.

Meet Michael

Michael chooses, roasts and tastes every coffee. He looks for sweetness, balance and flavour, whether that’s a familiar chocolatey coffee or something brighter and fruitier.

We work with importers who provide information about where the coffees come from and the people who produce them. You’ll find those details on our single-origin coffee pages.

Not sure what to choose? Tell us how you make your coffee and what you like drinking. We’re always happy to help.

Why “Golden Sheep”?

The name is a nod to the Cotswold Lion sheep and Stroud’s wool-making history. We wanted a name with a connection to the place we call home.
