quiet routine.
Step-by-step instructions
What you'll need
- Filter coffee machine (any reputable brand)
- Paper filter (or reusable metal filter if your machine supports it)
- Freshly roasted Golden Sheep Coffee beans (or purchase pre-ground)
- Burr grinder (if using beans)
- Scales (optional)
- Clean, filtered water
Recommended Recipe
- Coffee: 60g per litre of water
- Water: As required by your machine
- Grind: Medium (similar to table salt)
- Brew time: Automatic (typically 4–6 minutes)
This ratio gives a balanced, sweet cup with a clean finish.
Step 1 - Prepare the filter
- Place the paper filter in the basket and rinse it with hot water.
- This removes papery flavours and preheats the brewer.
Step 2 - . Add your coffee
- Measure your coffee using the 60g per litre ratio.
- Add the medium‑ground coffee to the filter basket and level it gently.
Step 3 - Fill the water tank
- Use clean, filtered water.
- Fill to the level that matches the amount of coffee you’re brewing.
Step 4 - Start the brew
- Switch on the machine and let it run its full cycle.
- Avoid opening the lid or disturbing the basket during brewing.
Step 5 - Swirl and serve
- Once the brew is finished, give the jug a gentle swirl to mix the layers.
- Serve immediately for the best flavour.
Step 6 - Taste & adjust
- Too weak or thin: increase the dose or grind slightly finer
- Too strong or heavy: reduce the dose or grind slightly coarser
- Bitter or harsh: ensure the machine is clean and use filtered water
- Flat or dull: try a fresher roast or reduce the brew ratio slightly
